Forum UNESCO-University and Heritage (FUUH) is an UNESCO Project for undertaking activities to protect and safeguard the cultural and natural heritage, through an informal networkof higher education institutions. FUUH is under the joint responsibility of the UNESCO World Heritage Centre and the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV), Spain. This internet website is not an official site of UNESCO but a website created and managed by the UPV within the framework of the project FUUH.

Organizers: By initiative of the Ministry of Foreign and European affairs, this colloquium is organized by the Foundation Maison des Sciences de l'Homme, in association with the Museum du Quai Branly, the CNRS, France 24, France Culture, Radio France Internationale, the magazine L'Histoire et Transcontinentales, the magazine of the French network of research institutes.

Summary:

The first colloquium of the French research Institutes abroad opens to the memories of the world and its contemporary challenges. 25 francophone scholars from the four continents will exchange their points of view on the memory of Comunism, the memory of the great curses of the 20th century (apartheid, partitions, genocides, wars), on the dialog between memory and the national constructions, and on the memory of the dominated groups centered on Germany, East Europe, Turkey, Israel, Lebanon, Yemen, India, China, Japan, South Africa, Peru, Mexico.

With Maurice Aymard, Marc Ferro, Thierry Garcin, Pierre Ganz, Marie-Claire Lavabre, Pierre Lévy, George Mink, Pierre Morel, Yves Saint-Geours, Marie-Claude Smouts, Jean-Claude Vatin, Dominique Wolton.
