| This seminar is devoted to inventorying European intangible heritage
and aims at furthering the debate on this subject by comparing different
methods of establishing intangible heritage inventories.
The encounter, which is organized by the French Institut national
du patrimoine (National Heritage Institute) and the Ethnological
Mission of the French Ministry of Culture and Communication, brings
together European specialists working at universities and cultural
institutions.
Katerina Stenou, Director of UNESCO's Division of Cultural Policies
and Intercultural Dialogue, and Rieks Smeets, Head of UNESCO's Intangible
Heritage Section, participate in the discussions.
A photo exhibition entitled "Living Heritage: Exploring
the Intangible" is displayed on the fence surrounding
the UNESCO Headquarters building until 30 November.
