Forum UNESCO-University and Heritage (FUUH) is an UNESCO Project for undertaking activities to protect and safeguard the cultural and natural heritage, through an informal networkof higher education institutions. FUUH is under the joint responsibility of the UNESCO World Heritage Centre and the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV), Spain. Summary: The Congress will bring together children and adults interested in natural and cultural heritage conservation. The participants include groups of young people, school forestry clubs, young rangers, children’s ecology clubs, ecological theater, folk groups -- all helping to preserve national and nature parks, reserves and city natural areas.

The main goal of the Congress is to become acquainted with nature protection activities carried out by the participants, promote the further development of the Movement of Friends of Protected Areas and attract public and government attention to problems faced by protected areas.

The Congress will host 350 young participants from more than 35 Russian provinces. This is the second Congress to which international youth has been invited, and a number of groups from other countries are expected to attend..

Agenda: Includes: exhibits of young people’s nature conservation projects, environmental competitions, workshops on community engagement strategies, roundtable discussions, master classes and business meetings, press conference, award ceremony, tours and excursions in Kazan and to Volzhsko-Kamsky Nature Reserve.

Cost: Comprehensive fee is €250 (approximately $350) per person, including visa support, registration in Kazan, lodging, food, informational documents, transportation in and around Kazan, excursions, and English-speaking interpreter.
