Forum UNESCO-University and Heritage (FUUH) is an UNESCO Project for undertaking activities to protect and safeguard the cultural and natural heritage, through an informal networkof higher education institutions. FUUH is under the joint responsibility of the UNESCO World Heritage Centre and the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV), Spain. This internet website is not an official site of UNESCO but a website created and managed by the UPV within the framework of the project FUUH.

Summary: The Conference will be a forum is to show that Education works, to make it a part of decision-making, and scale it up. It will be a platform for sharing of practices and learnings; exchange of ideas and information on ongoing and planned initiatives in the field of Environmental Education (EE) and Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) the world over. The Conference will highlight partnerships between the two fields, discuss the role of EE as a Champion of ESD and deliberate on partnerships with several other disciplines / organizations.

The Conference will bring together participants from all over the world which include educators from the field of environment, health, water and sanitation, human rights, gender, peace, citizenship, social justice and others, civil society /NGOs, corporates, academics, and media, government officials and representatives of UN agencies. Working Session Themes have been developed based on DESD perspectives and will be crosscutting.
