Forum UNESCO-University and Heritage (FUUH) is an UNESCO Project for undertaking activities to protect and safeguard the cultural and natural heritage, through an informal networkof higher education institutions. FUUH is under the joint responsibility of the UNESCO World Heritage Centre and the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV), Spain. Summary:

The objective of the meeting is to promote the reciprocal knowledge of cultural, ethnic, linguistic and religious diversity and to approach strategic thematic axes, such as the fight against prejudices, the development of intercultural abilities, the strengthening of the dialogue, the shared emphasis in heritages and values. In addition, it will address topics such as the oral traditions, the representation arts, traditional knowledge and competitions, the festive rituals and events and the traditional crafts.

The meeting will attempt to encourage the development of cultural policies that promote the function of the immaterial heritage in society. Therefore, from interdisciplinary and intersectorial approaches, it will promote the reflection on projects and good practices that have allowed to reinforce cultural pluralism, promoting the intercultural dialogue, in urban and rural areas .

Another aspect that will have special antención in the meeting will be the importance of tourism and its role as agent in the process of expression of culture and cultural differences and its relevance as medium through which people interact, exchange histories, ideas, objects and create a shared feeling of human property.

It will also deal with the cultural notion of the Routes and cultural passages as the means to communicate cultural diversity and heritage, improving the knowledge of the cultural interaction and to give sense to the movement of people, civilizations and cultures. Therefore, the topic of the inventories of the immaterial heritage, the places and sites of memory and the role of the communities will be discussed.
