Forum UNESCO-University and Heritage (FUUH) is an UNESCO Project for undertaking activities to protect and safeguard the cultural and natural heritage, through an informal networkof higher education institutions. FUUH is under the joint responsibility of the UNESCO World Heritage Centre and the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV), Spain. Summary:

This training workshop is organized within the framework of the action plan for the rehabilitation of the earthquake-affected Prambanan World Heritage Compounds.

It will include 26 participants from various organizations: central and local government, NGO activists in the field of cultural heritage, academics and representatives from local communities living in the vicinity of the temples of Prambanan.

The objective of this training-workshop is to raise awareness among the various partners involved in the protection of the site about the importance of risk-preparedness for cultural heritage preservation, as well as to elaborate an integrated risk-management plan for the compounds.

The training will be implemented with the expertise of the Center for Disaster Studies in the University of Gadjah Mada of Yogyakarta and the collaboration of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Indonesia and other interested parties.
The workshop is organized by the UNESCO Office in Jakarta.
