UNESCO chose Bogota in June 2005 as World Capital of books 2007,
award that mobilized immediate and strategic actions among the different
actors to strengthen the projects for the promotion of reading and
writing habits among Bogota's citizens.
Thus Unibiblos, publishing company of the National University of
Colombia, as member of the University Publishers Association of
Colombia - ASEUC- and head of the node center, has the mission to
develop and coordinate strategies that allow to spread and promote
the consumption and production of university publications in the
city, the region and the country.
