Forum UNESCO-University and Heritage (FUUH) is an UNESCO Project for undertaking activities to protect and safeguard the cultural and natural heritage, through an informal networkof higher education institutions. FUUH is under the joint responsibility of the UNESCO World Heritage Centre and the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV), Spain. This internet website is not an official site of UNESCO but a website created and managed by the UPV within the framework of the project FUUH.

Summary:

Candidacy dossiers should be sent to ICCROM before August 31, 2007. Only complete dossiers will be considered .

To share with the communication and heritage agents, as well as the leaders of opinion, the challenges related to the conservation and promotion of African heritage, with the purpose of identifying the means for a better communication on heritage. Therefore, each participant will have the opportunity to:

• To present the state of the art of communication on heritage in their countries and institutions;
• To discuss the role, the importance and the contribution of communication in knowledge, the conservation and the sustainable promotion of heritage;
• To define the challenges related to the communication on the real estate cultural heritage in particular;
• To determine the innovating action lines for a better communication and information towards different audiences.

The 5-day seminar will be divided in two main parts. First it will include the presentations of the participants in the seminar: results of research works, reflections, case studies. These presentations will be followed by a plenary session, after group works to identify the problems, strongpoints, hints, solutions and possible strategies for a better communication on sub-Sahara Africa heritage .
