Forum UNESCO-University and Heritage (FUUH) is an UNESCO Project for undertaking activities to protect and safeguard the cultural and natural heritage, through an informal networkof higher education institutions. FUUH is under the joint responsibility of the UNESCO World Heritage Centre and the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV), Spain. Summary:

The objectives of the Workshop are:

1) To provide theoretical and practical elements for the creation and consolidation of community museums in different countries of America.
2) To promote the training of facilitators that accompany and advise the processes of different communities in their respective regions and countries.

The Workshop includes the following modules:

• the concept of community museum
• The role of facilitator
• social base and creation of consensus
• Process of creation of the museum (conceptualization, investigation and design)
• living Museum
• Construction of networks

The requirements to participate are:

• Submit an application describing your antecedents, present situation and future projects with respect to the community museums .
• To be participating currently in the creation and/or development of a community museum.
• Participar during all the Workshop.
• To commit to offer advice and follow-up to community museums in its region or country at the end of the Workshop
• To have the endorsement of an institution or organization that is committed to provide follow-up to the creation and development process of community museums in its region or country.

Costs and alternatives of scholarship:

there are three types of participation.

Complete scholarship. The Union of Community Museums of Oaxaca will provide transport from the capital of its country to the City of Oaxaca, both ways, and the expenses of teaching material, lodging, food and local transport in Oaxaca.*

Partial scholarship. The Union of Community Museums of Oaxaca will provide the expenses of didactic material, lodging, food and local transport in Oaxaca.*

Expenses paid by the participant. These participants will have to cover the fee of 730 USD, which includes lodging, food, didactic material and local transport.*

* All the participants will have to cover their transport to the capital of their country, their expenses of passport and visa, the expenses of food and lodging during the transfers to Oaxaca and other additional expenses.

Calendar:
The deadline to receive applications is July 17. On July 31 the results of the revision of applications will be announced.
