Forum UNESCO-University and Heritage (FUUH) is an UNESCO Project for undertaking activities to protect and safeguard the cultural and natural heritage, through an informal networkof higher education institutions. FUUH is under the joint responsibility of the UNESCO World Heritage Centre and the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV), Spain. This internet website is not an official site of UNESCO but a website created and managed by the UPV within the framework of the project FUUH.

Summary:

The international conference is organized on the occasion of UNESCO World Day for Cultural Diversity, Dialogue and Development (21 May) with the aim of promoting cultural diversity, creativity and innovation through arts education and strengthening museum-to-museum partnership among cluster countries.

Main objectives:

  • Discuss the issues of safeguarding of cultural diversity through the development of arts education;
  • Analyze the prospects of museum resources for the development of arts education;
  • Share best experience and practices in the implementation of educational programmes for different categories of museum audience;
  • Discuss the value of arts education in promoting peace and cultural understanding among young people.

The conference is organized in partnership with the State Hermitage Museum, which, under the new phase of the Hermitage/UNESCO Project, has been designated a centre of excellence and actively shares the experience and expertise with other museums in Russia and CIS countries.
