The Forestry field in Europe is of a great diversity with strong
and weak aspects. Multi-fonctionality is one of its main aspects,
but addressing the economical, social and environmental issues in
a single way is a challenge.
That is why the European Union is proposing the new EU Forest Action
Plan (FAP) which underlines the needs of cooperation, coordination
and communication between all the stakeholders. Forestry Education
is upstream to the whole field but is little or not implied yet.
European students feel that a meeting based on discussions about
cooperation in Education could be a first step to getting involved
themselves in the current EU Forest Action Plan process. Besides,
it could be a way to meet some FAP objectives and draw up common
projects throughout Europe. For instance, the development of the
current university networks or the implementation of an accreditation
program in the EU could be discussed.
