
The festival covers various aspects of the Chinese intangible cultural
heritage, which has an inestimable significance for China.

Performance
There will be a presentation of the Kun Qu Opera, Gugin Art, the
Art of Uyghur Muqan of Xinjiang and the Urtin Duu – Traditional
Folk Long Song of Mongolia, all of which have been proclaimed by
UNESCO as Masterpieces of the Oral and Intangible Cultural Heritage
of Humanity. Also on display are remarkable objects from the first
Chinese national inventory of intangible cultural heritage.

This exhibition features different aspects of Chinese intangible
cultural heritage, which is particularly rich and varied owing to
its numerous ethnic groups and regions. This event reflects the
determination and commitment of the Chinese Government and its people
towards the protection of this irreplaceable heritage. Several objects
on display have never been exhibited outside of China.
The festival is organized by the Art Academy of China and the National
Centre of Intangible Cultural Heritage of China, with the cooperation
of the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage Section of the Culture
Sector.
