Forum UNESCO-University and Heritage (FUUH) is an UNESCO Project for undertaking activities to protect and safeguard the cultural and natural heritage, through an informal networkof higher education institutions. FUUH is under the joint responsibility of the UNESCO World Heritage Centre and the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV), Spain. This internet website is not an official site of UNESCO but a website created and managed by the UPV within the framework of the project FUUH.

Summary:

This is a three day conference covering the various issues raised by the instability of plastic materials.

The purpose of this conference will be to bring together an international group of professionals including conservators, curators, collectors, designers, scientists, and artists. The conference will present a broad view of the issues involved in this complex area including:

  • Scientific investigation
  • Conservation of plastic – is it possible?
  • Collection - Does the prospect of a shorter lifetime influence collecting decisions & policies?
