| Summary: | The General Conference adopted at its 33rd session 33 C/Resolution
45 inviting the Director-General to submit to its next session a Draft
Declaration of Principles relating to Cultural Objects Displaced in
Connection with the Second World War, after having convened an intergovernmental
meeting to elaborate such a draft.
The first intergovernmental meeting was held on 19 and 21 July 2006 at UNESCO. Following an intensive debate, the meeting amended and adopted in the first reading the draft of the principles to be contained in the draft declaration. However, owing to time constraints, the preamble was not examined. This second session, which has been organized in order to complete the first meeting’s work, will be attended by about 150 participants. Room XI, 10 am–6 pm |
