Organized by the Portuguese Chapter of the International Association of Hydrogeologists (AIH-GP) in partnership with UNESCO-IHP and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), the XXXV International Association of Hydrogeologists (AIH) congress will take place in Lisbon, Portugal, on 17-21 September 2007.

The congress aims to provide a platform for specialists to exchange experiences on integrated groundwater management with dependent ecosystems, propose methods to define, prevent, control and mitigate negative environmental impacts related with groundwater ecosystems, discuss specific issues such as climate change, groundwater quality, biological aspects, and raise the general public’s awareness of groundwater related issues; through courses, round tables, and thematic sessions. The Congress also provides a contribution to the implementation of the Groundwater Component of the IHP VI 2002-2007 Programme - Water Interaction Systems at Risks and Social Challenges

Abstracts must be submitted via the Lisbon 2007 website by 15 February 2007.
