Forum UNESCO-University and Heritage (FUUH) is an UNESCO Project for undertaking activities to protect and safeguard the cultural and natural heritage, through an informal networkof higher education institutions. FUUH is under the joint responsibility of the UNESCO World Heritage Centre and the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV), Spain. This internet website is not an official site of UNESCO but a website created and managed by the UPV within the framework of the project FUUH.

Summary:

The City council of Malaga, through the Service of Programs and the Observatory of Urban environment, is pleased to invite you to participate in the ÁGORA International Seminar : Recovery of Public and heritage Urban Spaces, which will be held in Malaga during March 22 and 23, 2007.

In the course of the activities of Networks 2 and 6 of the URB-AL program, which deal respectively with the "Conservation of urban historical contexts" and the "Urban Enviromnment", it was stated that many local communities face the daily degradation of their own historical centers and recurrent problems with regard to valuation, conservation, recovery and management of these centers.

The City council of Malaga, in collaboration with the Center of Documentation of the URB-AL Program and the CIEDES Foundation, are organizing this International Seminar to present a number of good practices in the public management of recovery of historical centers in cities of Europe, Latin America, and Africa.
