tours, a dinner/dance, and the official opening of the new building.

Researcher of the National Institute of Anthropology and History
of Mexico (INAH), in charge since 1972 of the conservation of the
Mexican collections, Felipe Solis was appointed Director of this
prestigious institution in 2000, position he had until he passed
away in April 2009. Felipe Solis participated in important archaeological
in situ projects and presented, in 1998, before a group of reknowned
experts, formed, in particular, by Miguel Leon Portilla, Eduardo
Matos Moctezuma and Beatriz de la Fuente, his renovation project
of the room “Mexica”, which was approved unanimously
before obtaining, in 2000, INAH’s Miguel Covarrubias Prize.
