ABSTRACT
Lahore is second biggest city of Pakistan with a population of more than 06 million inhabitants. It is also called as the city of garden,
colleges and much more. The famous Mughal Shalamar Garden is also located in this city which increases its importance. Along with
Shalamar Garden there are present other parks those are developed on modern scientific principles. Although modern technological
innovation is applied but even then the grace of historical Shalamar garden could not be negated. This is acting as a major landmark in the
city and attracting local as well as international people.
This paper will explore the importance of Shalamar garden and its impact
on the development of city of Lahore. This will also help to formulate strategies those may help the city manager to apply while designing a
new city or town.
